For the second year in a row, the Chambers and Associations Partnership Project in Albania and Kosovo was represented at German Culture Week in Tirana, with the Crafts Corner as part of the annual street festival. This year, the Crafts Corner highlighted an important dimension of German-Albanian cooperation: craftsmanship, professional skills and quality standards in Albania’s craft sector.
On 3 October, the Chamber of Crafts Koblenz presented the Crafts Corner, bringing together three craft sectors and offering visitors an insight into the diversity of professional craftsmanship and its potential for further development.
Artisans from the textile sector showcased garments and textile products combining traditional handcraft techniques with modern technology. The Association of Professionals for Body Care and Art (SHPPAT) presented professional techniques in hair styling and personal care. Alta Academy completed the Crafts Corner with German-style bread prepared according to professional standards, highlighting the importance of quality, expertise and professional training in the baking sector.
The Crafts Corner demonstrated how the exchange of professional knowledge and standards can help strengthen local skills, improve quality and create new opportunities for professionals and businesses. It also highlighted how a stronger craft sector can contribute to better professional prospects and greater economic empowerment.
Through the Partnership Project, the Chamber of Crafts Koblenz, in cooperation with the National Chamber of Crafts of Albania and the Chamber of Crafts in Prizren, Kosovo, has been working for several years with local partners to strengthen craftsmanship and craft professions. The partnership focuses on capacity building through training, professional advice and institutional development, supporting professional growth and contributing to the long-term development of the craft sector in Albania and Kosovo.
The Crafts Corner at German Culture Week demonstrated how international cooperation can connect professional expertise with local practice, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, skills development and stronger craft businesses.
